 MANX CHASERS YOUTH AND OPEN CHALLENGE
YOUTH EVENT – Friday 30th October 2009
OPEN EVENT – Sunday 1st November 2009
Over the same courses

   Classes for both days:

  1. Minimus max 1’ 6"                                
  2. Minimus Pairs max 1’6"
  3. Novice max 2’ 6"                                   
  4. Novice Pairs max 2’ 6
  5. Open max 3’ 3"              

Competition involves:

  • Cross country course of approximately 3000m
  • Controlled walk section to include opening and shutting a 4 foot gate
  • Show jump section to follow immediately after the cross country round
  • Cross country section has an optimum time

Penalties are awarded for:

  • Jumps refused or knocked down in the cross country and show jumping sections
  • Failure to open or shut the gate
  • Failure to maintain a walk in the walk section
  • Time faults either side of the optimum time in the cross country section

The aim of the competition is to have fun.

No one is eliminated but maybe asked to move on if experiencing difficulties at a particular jump but can finish the course.

Overtaking is allowed but must be done carefully with consideration for other riders.

In the pairs classes riders must jump the fences within 50m of each other. There may be a dressed fence which has to be jumped together.
